The Reef Hotel Casino Community Benefit Fund (the Fund) was established in January 1996 by the Queensland Government to distribute grants to non-profit community organisations in Far North Queensland, which provide facilities or services to the community at large.  The funding is received from a 1% levy on gross gaming revenue of The Reef Casino in Cairns.

As at December 2007 the Fund had awarded more than 988 grants for projects totaling more than $4.5 million.  The average grant value has been $4,500, although grants have ranged in value from $350 to as much as $15,000.
