The Reef Hotel Casino Community Benefit Fund (the Fund) was established in January 1996 by the Queensland Government to distribute grants to non-profit community organisations in Far North Queensland, which provide facilities or services to the community at large. The funding is received from a 1% levy on gross gaming revenue of The Reef Casino in Cairns. As at December 2007 the Fund had awarded more than 988 grants for projects totaling more than $4.5 million. The average grant value has been $4,500, although grants have ranged in value from $350 to as much as $15,000.
ROUND 22 - GRANTS ANNOUNCED DECEMBER 2007 More than $220,000 has been awarded to 40 Far North Queensland not-for-profit organisations in the latest funding round of the Reef Hotel Casino Community Benefit Fund. For full details of the grants please refer to the Round 22 grants page of this site SUBMISSION OF NEW APPLICATIONS Applications to be considered in Funding Round 24 must be received by the Fund by 15 July 2008. Application forms can be downloaded from this site or call the secretary to request a form.
FUNDING ROUND 23 The applications that were received by 15 January 2008 (Round 23) are currently being processed in preparation for Trustee review. It is anticipated that all applicants will be notified the outcome of their application by June 2008.
